Atlas Copco Facility
The Riverwalk development in Rock Hill, SC provides a unique lifestyle for its residents. Moreover, this master planned community includes numerous recreational aspects as well as an industrial business park. To complement the nature of this development, Jones Civil Design provided a detailed and diverse landscape plan for the new Atlas Copco facility inside the River Walk industrial park. Today, the extensive amount of vegetation softens the vast hardscape and provides an easing aesthetic to the facility that brought 500 jobs to the business park. Furthermore, the leadership of Atlas Copco wanted the landscaping to require low watering levels - to preserve this natural resource. Therefore, Jones Civil Design proposed drought-tolerant materials that thrive in full sun conditions without requiring irrigation. Then, to provide training and showcase opportunities for the Company's drilling equipment, Jones Civil Design incorporated several of the large boulders (excavated during construction) into the Landscape Plan around the facility. Also, as part of this project, Jones Civil Design provided an extensive site-lighting (photometric) plan for the facility's parking lot. Additionally, Jones Civil Design provided renderings of the "night view" lighting plan for the Company's security personnel to see how the lighting levels would look from various angles; so they could determine the best placement for their security cameras.
