Matthew founded Jones Civil Design to provide superior engineering while delivering timely service. Thus, within this Firm, Matthew strives to meet the Client's needs "From Conception to Completion"® while providing the highest quality service in Civil Engineering and Land Solutions.
To provide such superior service, Matthew draws upon twenty-five years of experience across the Southeastern U.S. and eleven years as an Entrepreneur at Jones Civil Design. At his previous Firms, Matthew learned beneficial practices and valuable techniques. Therefore, with this collection of positive insight, Matthew brings innovation and professionalism to every project.

Education & Certification

Matthew received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (class of 1999). After graduating, Matthew worked as a designer, engineering intern, and project manager for a handful of engineering firms where he was exposed to a wide variety of land use issues and design scenarios across the southeastern U.S. Thus, Matthew has a broad set of projects from which he pulls knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering and Land Development matters. Now, with that experience, Matthew provides services in NC, SC, GA, and FL - where he is licensed as a Professional Engineer.

In addition to his engineering education, Matthew has also received a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies and a Master of Divinity degree from Liberty University. Matthew's faith-based approach to life enables him to bring reliability and professional sensitivity to his work.
Background

Matthew grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, between Brevard and Hendersonville, and he still has strong family ties there. In his early career days, while working at other Firms, Matthew also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. During his time as a Citizen-Soldier, Matthew deployed on two tours of duty, overseas:
(1) Deploying to Egypt two weeks after the Trade Center attacks in 2001 and
(2) Deploying to Iraq as part of "Operation Iraqi Freedom" in 2003.
